AT&T announced it expanded its Gigabit Internet service in parts of Atlanta, Austin, and Orlando to more homes, apartments and small businesses. AT&T GigaPower is reportedly now available in 26 of the nation’s largest metro areas, and the operator says it has plans to expand in 30 more.

“Improving access to high-speed Internet opens new doors for our community members and greatly augments many aspects of life – including business, education and health care,” Texas State Representative Donna Howard, says. “We celebrate the launch of AT&T GigaPower expansion in our area and look forward to the new possibilities this service brings.”

Christian D. Malesic, president and CEO of the Melbourne Regional Chamber in Florida says that faster access for residents and small businesses is critical to the economic vitality of the city as it competes for businesses and jobs in the area.

“Today’s announcement is a game changer in delivering our goals to keep our communities connected,” Malesic adds. “This expanded AT&T service will help support job growth in small businesses and provide fast connections for families and students at home.”
